June 2, 2021 – Two papers out
Pratibha and Matthew’s paper in collaboration with the Carpenter Lab was published in eLife. Alexis’s eVIP2 paper was accepted in PLOS Computational Biology and will be out soon. Congrats!
May 25, 2021 – Angela received tenure
We finally got the exciting news! Angela received tenure and has officially been promoted to Associate Professor. Congrats Angela!
May 18, 2021 – Megan selected for the Henry and Vera Piatt Fellowship
She has been selected to receive the 2021-22 Henry and Vera Piatt Fellowship. The award is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Capitola/Aptos and targets graduate students who graduated from a Santa Cruz County public high school.
April 26, 2021 – Carlos awarded the Dean’s Undergraduate Award
Carlos, an RMI Scholar, was selected to receive the Dean’s Undergraduate Award for his senior thesis titled “Pan-Cancer Analysis of Driver Mutations and Modules in Cancer Genomes” and for his outstanding achievements in MCD Biology.

November 1, 2020: Robert joins the lab
We have a new postdoc! Robert Shelansky joins our lab after completing his PhD here at UC Santa Cruz with Hinrich Boeger. He will be continuing his work on developing our Add-Seq method.
June 22, 2020: Angela named Director of Diversity at the UCSC Genomics Institute
Angela was recently named Director of Diversity for the UC Santa Cruz Genomics Institute. She will continue to advocate for more diversity in both the genomics data and the researchers that study these data in her new role at the GI.
June 11, 2020: Officially Dr. Cameron Soulette
Cameron completed his PhD! Cam was our first graduate student and has been an amazing member of the lab. He played a huge role in defining the inclusive lab culture and we will miss him greatly as he moves on to Gilead. Congrats Cameron!
